The original band members of JET RED went into Prairie Sun studios to help lay down tracks for Willie Hines’ forthcoming solo record “Letters To Maria”. That is right, Brad Lang, Johnny Feikert, and Billy Carmassi joined forces to help Willie out.
August 2016

It was reported that Brad Lang has joined Bobby Blotzer’s Ratt. He will re-team with Mitch Perry with whom he played with in Jeff Pilson’s (Dokken) War and Peace.

It was reported
here and there:

"Starting September 3rd and 4th onward will be the great Mitch Perry on lead guitar, Stacey Blades [on] rhythm and leads, and Brad Lang on bass, along with the awesome Joshua Alan still fronting, of course, and yours truly chopping wood behind the kit.
"All these guys are long time road veterans from very well-known lists of bands. We're definitely looking forward to playing with them.

Ronnie Montrose
1947-2012

A few months ago, a surprise party was held for Ronnie Montrose's 64th birthday. He gave an impromptu speech, and told family and friends that after a long life, filled with joy and hardship, he didn't take any of their love for granted.

He passed on March 3, 2012. He'd battled cancer, and staved off old age for long enough. And true to form, he chose his own exit the way he chose his own life. He is missed already, but we're glad to have shared with him while we could.

Steve noted that Ronnie was one who was his friend and his mentor but mostly someone who made him laugh every second and kicked his ass every night. Steve, we share in your loss to a true musical great.

We are working hard to correct this travesty. Please check back often as we expect to have the situation corrected as soon as we can and make this great music available to the masses.

Y&T have a named Brad Lang as their new, permanent bassist.
Brad spent the last year or so playing live with the band (after a 24 hour notice), taking over from Phil Kennemore, who died on January 7 this year after a long illness.

Says Y&T leader Dave Meniketti: “Put simply, Phil expressed to me with no uncertainty that he wished Y&T to go on, no matter what happened to him. I understood, because we are lifetime Y&T people and lifelong musicians. This is what we know and where we have received much of our joy throughout our lives."

“I questioned any decision to continue, simply because I know how I had felt about other bands that have continued to play with only one remaining original member, and wondered if I wasn’t going to be a hypocrite by holding this band to a different criteria. Well, maybe I am, but the bottom line, as many of us have come to as a life lesson, is that many times you can’t truly understand a situation until you actually experience it first-hand."

“So . . . with current experiences in hand, I have made my decision to continue with Y&T. As quickly as I say this, I am also a realist, and if the fans seem to lose interest in the band, so be it, I will move on and do something else.”

RIP Gary Moore- a rock guitar legend.

Saw the last rock tour (The "After The War" album) he did in the USA. Great stuff with Neil Carter playing with him. "Shapes Of Things".....awesome. A few days later, Wolfgang's burned down and was never rebuilt in SF. Gary's guitar solos were pure musical joy. While his blues stuff was great, his rock stuff was equally as good. We will always want Moore..........

August, 2010

A reminder that this Saturday, August 14th, at the Blackwater Cafe in Stockton, Willie Hines and the Face Cards will be performing two sets, starting @ 8:00pm. They will be premiering their new full length cd "Reason In This World". The cover of $10 includes the new cd!! Laid back Marin county pop w/ a touch of Americana. Are you kidding me?!?!? Be there!

August, 2010

Brad is out on the road with Y&T as a fill-in for Phil Kenemore. It appears Phil had a back issue that lead to a diagnosis of hip replacement surgery and a bout with cancer. We wish Phil a speedy recovery. Initially, it was thought that his back injury would keep him off the road for 2 weeks thus Brad got the call and was on a plane in 24 hours and learned 19 songs. He is going to be part of the Y&T team for a while and could be seen here on the Y&T tour page.

ROCK ON BRAD!!!

PLEASE NOTE:

August 18, 2010

Family and friends,

As many of you know already, Phil Kennemore was recently diagnosed with metastaic cancer. Phil has undergone a barrage of tests, a long hospital stay at Stanford, an operation, and will soon start aggressive chemotherapy to regain his health and get him back with the band on stage again.

Because of this and potentially more treatments to come, I have put together a fund for Phil so that people from around the world can make donations to help him with his enormous medical bills. I have set up a page for this Fund and you can visit it at the link below, for more information on how you can contribute.

http://www.meniketti.com/philfund.html

Feel free to spread the word and share this link with your friends. Any donation, no matter what the size, will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Dave Meniketti

July, 2010

The 07/16/2010 reunion show went off without a hitch and rocked. The set list is as follows:

Let It Roll, Take It To Heart, Tell Me When You're Ready, Don't Leave Me Alone, Down To Me And You, Matter Of Time, Lonely, Look In Your Eyes, I Surrender, Outside, Take It Down, About You, Lolita, Drive In...and the encore was Lots Of Days. According to Willie "Yeah,..it was fun!" The band is Willie Hines, Brad Lang, Michael Frowein, and Russell Van Norman.

A fan video of the band playing "Lonely" was posted to Facebook but I placed it on YouTube and can be seen here:

Also, Brad has a private backyard party each year and this video was a preview of the reunion show! The band is playing "Lots Of Days" from the new album. Enjoy!

June, 2010

A reunion show has been set. It will feature the original Jet Red lineup from way back in the day. We are talking about this message from Willie Hines:

Hey, Ken! We're talking the original line-up (well, the first one that really mattered anyway), with Brad, Fro, Russell Van Norman on keyboards, and myself on lead vocals and all guitars!

So you want to go? You need to get to
Fat Cat in Modesto on July 16th. Actually, it is Fro's birthday bash! Should be fun.....The band is rehearsing and is getting ready to rock. More details as I find them!! Join our Facebook page to stay hip!!

February, 2010

MAJOR NEWS - I have confirmation that as of March, 2010, the long awaited second album from JET RED entitled "FLIGHT PLAN" will finally be released. Yes, the wait is over. The package is available through SunCity Records, our former pals down under.

UPDATE- AUGUST 2011: Sun City is out of business and will not return our calls or the stock of our CDs. We are working to correct this ASAP. Stay tuned!

I am assuming that it is the original package with the bonus DVD. For those who forgot, it is as follows:

Jet Red CD/DVD Package

A little known fact about Jet Red is that in the mid/late 80's when the boys were starting out, their original axe man was the GREAT Marty Friedman who went on to record with many great bands, but most notably became apart of the legendary Megadeth. Jet Red recorded a bunch of tunes back in the day with Marty before Dave Mustane poached him and they will be featured on Flight Plan as bonus tracks.

Flight Plan will include the full 11 tracks that were to be the second album plus 3 bonus tracks that Marty did with the band right at the start PLUS this package will include a bonus DVD of a killer live show that the boys did in San Jose in the early 90's. All that for the same price of US$18.00!!

So there you have it! Tell Sun City that you were sent there by the OFFICIAL JET RED SITE!

I plan on speaking to the band for some other goodies to offer including a CD of further unreleased tracks recorded live in various settings including some unplugged, acoustic stuff that is awesome. Stay tuned......more great stuff to come soon.......

Rock on my friends!
